Education has seen its fair share of new technologies meant to aid in the learning process. Some technologies have changed the way education is taught and some have not made as big of a splash as they were intended. Regardless of what your personal beliefs are regarding the role and importance of technology, it is not going away anytime soon and will have a greater role as the years progress.
For my Tool Time 1, I created an infographic outlining the different pieces of technology that was introduced into education and had an impact on it. Whether that impact was positive or created unforeseen challenges and debates.

Hi Caroline,
Great job on the blog! This is something that I should definitely look into for future use.
Hi Caroline,
Great infographic! The tone is user friendly and approachable, and your personality really comes through in the captions. What tool did you use to create these? I've been trying to collect resources for creating infographics for my own personal use and for my teahching. I'm thinking of having my students create infographics as a project at the end of the semester.
I agree with you that AR/VR will become more prominent in the future as will social learning experiences. I'm actually working this semester on setting up an intercultural exchange program between my undergrad class at UH and a university in Japan; technology has made this process so much easier!
Hello Caroline!
Thank for putting together this infographic, it is nice to look at, informative, and makes me ask some good questions about what I think the future may be. I enjoy seeing everyone reference vr/ar in one way or the other, it seems like that may be the next big thing and I am very curious to see hoe that looks when it is all said and done.

Hello Caroline,
I loved your infographic. I absolutely love the titles of each section. I agree with you that VR seems to be the future in educational technology. Right now, VR seems to be in the infancy stages. However, as a teacher, I can't wait to see how it becomes an integral part of the learning experience. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Caroline!
Thank you for your thoughtful blog entry! I loved your analysis on the various educational technologies throughout history. I completely agree with what you said about "educators can harness the human experience through technology and add depth and importance to the learning process." In my own blog post, I talked about how I think the role of the educator will change as they integrate tech into their classroom. I mentioned how educators will be curating tech to help students based on their learning styles. I loved what you said about "adding depth" because I agree that with technology, teachers will be relieved of manual/tedious tasks, and instead focus their energy on their students!
