Schoology... doing more as an Learning Management System (Tool Time 2)

Writer's picture: Caroline LanglaisCaroline Langlais

Schoolology is a Learning Management System that connects learning, assessment, activities, scaffolding, and communication all in one place. Schoology offers both a free and paid subscription. Districts can pay for an upgraded version that includes more audio options, tracks student progress, and an administration feature that allows for one to manage many educators and many classes. Regardless of which version you choose, you can share resources throughout your district.

Schoology is very easy and flexible that educators can tailor the LMS to their needs. They can administer assessments within the system and unlike some other systems, Schoology has 18 different types of questions; students can even upload audio of video. It also has a built in grade book, to help educators track student progress.

Schoology has many features that making it perfect for education. Even though it has over 200+ educational tools and platforms that can be integrated, it may be overwhelming for educators. Educators really need dedicated time to explore all the aspects of the management system. Pro tip: slowly roll out all the features for your students, that way you both are not overwhelmed and feel comfortable with the system.

It has grown exponentially and garnered attention in the last few years that it was recently acquired by PowerSchools. For further information, visit their website.
